This book is a collaboration of Laurie Stanley-Blackwell (author), Sophia Lawrence (illustrator), and Michael Linkletter (translator). Their goal is to create an English-Gaelic children's picture book that is fun, gentle, and full of life. 

My Dog Tank is inspired by the Scottish tradition of the tall tale. In this humorous children's story, Robbie describes his remarkable dog to his friends. They are amazed to learn that Tank is bigger, faster, stronger, and smarter than other dogs. Robbie's friends are in for a big surprise. 

When they see his dog, they discover that she does not fit his description. They realize that Tank may not be as mighty as Robbie says, but to him she is larger than life.
